Allamaraine, count to four! Allamaraine, then three more!

That'll be in your head all day now and you're very welcome.

Move Along Home is an oddity in Deep Space Nine for a couple of reasons. It's an early episode that goes for surrealism, never quite achieving it. It, like The Naked Now, took these new characters and dropped them into a wild situation to test their reactions - before we the audience had truly got a handle on them.

At least it wasn't the second episode of the show.

It became a truly hated outing for quite some time, rarely offering much more than a short joke. However, at its core, the episode's biggest sin is that it's a little dull. The farce never really explodes into something wild, like episodes that would follow. So, it's just an excuse to get Sisko, Kira, Bashir, and Dax, off the station for a bit.

Where the episode excels is in Quark and Odo's scenes. Armin Shimmerman and René Aubérjonois had real chemistry here, offering the only real tension that Move Along Home achieved.

It is now an episode that is often quoted, with everyone generally knowing where and what's going on. The Wadi have guest starred on Star Trek: Lower Decks as well, serving as a testament to their longevity - and that catchy earworm.
