19. Stargate Origins
Eeeesh, prequels. Even worse, prequels that don't add anything to the story or the franchise as a whole? While it was great to see some kind of Stargate on our screens again, no matter how briefly, surely it wasn't a great idea to go back to the Nazis, the Langfords and Abydos under Ra?
Okay, it was pretty cool to see Ra again, it was pretty cool to see a young Kasuf, but overall... did this late entry do anything more than undermine what was laid out before?
Every time the franchise shows the gate being opened before 1994 sort of undermines the journey of discovery that Daniel Jackson went on in the original film, while the ultimate cop-out of 'their memories were wiped' just shows that this particular idea didn't really have anywhere to go.
The mini-series was nice to look at and the characters were nice enough, but ultimately, this prequel series was kind of pointless.
