The Simpsons: 10 Awesome Things You Forgot Ever Happened

5. Meeting The Entire Simpson Family - Lisa The Simpson (s9e17)

The Simspsons
20th Century Fox

Even though Homer is fully aware of how dysfunctional his family is, he's always been proud to be a Simpson. Every opportunity he gets, he'll tell tales about his cousins, grandparents, and ancestors.

But for the first few years, we rarely got a glimpse of any Simpson outside the direct family.

Fortunately, we got to meet the whole gang in the episode, Lisa the Simpson. When Lisa becomes worried that all Simpsons are destined to become dumb, Homer rounds up every relative in the area to prove her wrong.

Homer's plan doesn't work at first since every Simpson acts like... a Simpson. But after seeing how successful all the women are, Lisa realises the stupidity gene or "The Simpson Gene" only effects men, meaning her intellect will never be impaired.

This is one of the most memorable scenes in the show since it expands the family tree of The Simpsons, and gave us hope for Lisa in the future. Even though it proves Homer will always be a screw-up, the fact he orchestrated this get-together to cheer his daughter up shows that he is genuinely a great father.
