Twin Peaks: The Return Premiere Review: 7 Ups & 4 Downs

3. It's Really, Really Funny

Twin Peaks Dale Cooper
Showtime

Lynch has a very unique, oddball sense of humour, one which slowly seeps through the cracks after a fairly dour two-hour premiere. Be it Lucy talking about a chocolate bunny she ate or Coop damn-near putting a casino out of business with his relentless jackpot wins, the show is positively dripping with wit both dry and outrageously over-the-top.

Again, it won't be for all tastes much like most of what Lynch does, but the humour feels very much in step with the original show's quirkier tone, especially when it comes to inherent comic relief characters like Lucy and Andy.
