10 Worst Ways WWE Butchers The English Language

1. "Would"

This is another one that drives the writers mad with rage.

When it comes time to recap a previous event, even if it only happened 5 minutes ago (which WWE has mastered because apparently we all have the attention span of the dog from Up,) the narrative is told in a future tense with endless uses of "would."

For no reason.

For example:

"While Drew McIntyre was celebrating McIntyre's win with the WWE Universe, Randy Orton would sneak out from under the ring. Orton would then hit McIntyre from behind and would then take advantage of McIntyre being off balance and would deliver an RKO before leaving. During the break, Drew would be tended to be medics and then would be taken by ambulance to a local medical facility."

As opposed to:

"Drew McIntyre was out here celebrating McIntyre's win with the WWE Universe when Randy Orton snuck into the ring. Orton hit McIntyre from behind, then proceeded to deliver an RKO before leaving. During the break, McIntrye was tended to by medics and transported to a local medical facility."

One sounds like a kindergarten teacher showing his students how to get to the bathroom. The other sounds like normal human narrative.

Also, see how annoying the pronoun thing is?
