10 Worst WWE Championship Reigns Of The 2000s

1. Chris Jericho (December 2001-March 2002)

You'd think if WWE were going to have someone pin 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and The Rock in the same night to unify two of the most important titles in North American wrestling history, they'd treat them well afterwards.

You thought wrong.

This was the fate that befell Chris Jericho. After his glorious accomplishment at Vengeance 2001, he embarked on what is comfortably one of the worst world title reigns WWE has ever seen.

He won his matches by cheating and looked like a snivelling wretch the entire time. When the time came for his WrestleMania feud with Triple H, he became a total third-wheel in The Game's spat with his wife Stephanie.

Actually, he was a fourth wheel - Trips and Steph's dog got more attention than he did.

When Y2J lost to The King of Kings in the main event of WrestleMania X-8, it was a mercy killing. It's a minor miracle that he was ever taken seriously as a top star ever again, because this should have ruined him. Not a great look for your one and only WWE Championship reign.
