10 WWE Stars' Best Non-WWE Matches

1. Kurt Angle (Vs. Samoa Joe, TNA, 2008)

Despite his long association with WWE - a company he referred to as his "home" after being inducted into its Hall of Fame earlier this year - Kurt Angle has, in fact, spent the larger part of his professional wrestling career away from it.

He was with TNA nearly a decade after signing up with Dixie Carter in 2006, back when Impact was just an hour-long, and, despite a few bumps and bruises, the man himself was still very much in his prime.

It was handy, then, that TNA had arguably a more talented roster at the time than their cross-town rivals, an example of whom being Samoa Joe, who shared with Angle at Lockdown 2008 one of the best cage matches in recent memory.

For a lot of fans, this was more or less the moment TNA peaked, and it's been a long and painful come-down ever since.
