10 WWE Stars Who Have Gone Backwards In 2020

1. Kofi Kingston

This one is perhaps a bit different from most others on this list, but it still counts.

Kofi Kingston was WWE Champion for most of 2019. That was the culmination of a decade-long journey, and his 'Mania 35 win over Daniel Bryan remains one of the most heartfelt moments in recent company history. Since shedding the belt to Brock Lesnar one year ago though, Kofi has done next-to-nothing.

He retreated back into a tag-team role alongside his New Day brethren before latterly stepping aside to rehab a back injury and let Big E take centre stage on his own; the latter plot point, whilst a nice touch, shows where Kingston is at post-title run. He'll never get that lofty a spot as a singles performer again, at least not for as long.

Kofi's only hope for another World Title feud hinges on WWE deciding E should chew him up as a challenger in the future. Kingston held the top prize for 180 days last year, but it's almost like that never happened. He's right back on the undercard.
