10 WWE Superstars And The Angles That Made Them Famous

2. Finn Balor & Bullet Club

Undoubtedly the most talked about faction in professional wrestling today, NJPW's Bullet Club came about from the work of two current WWE superstars, Finn Balor and Karl Anderson. The faction would gain both genuine superstar status in Japan, and lead to them being recognised internationally leading to their eventual move to WWE.

The group came about as a result of both men turning heel. Balor, then known as Prince Devitt, turned first, frustrated at his inability to wrestle the IWGP Heavyweight Championship from the Cena-esque grasp of Hiroshi Tanahashi. He had got himself a heavy in the shape of Bad Luck Fale, and although reports suggest the group was initially supposed to be a duo their numbers soon swelled.

This was achieved by getting Karl Anderson to turn, once again poor Tanahashi being the guy taking the booting. Haku's son Tama Tonga completed the group, and Bullet Club was formed.

The stable was completely fresh in Japanese wrestling, becoming the most over heels in the country. This success and stardom pricked the ears of WWE, and today we find both gentlemen on our TV screens and in our rumour mills. You could say it is 'too sweet'.

Sorry about that.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
