1. Cody Saves The Day

When Seth Rollins came out and started cutting his usual promo about how he is destined to lead WWE into the future of the next decade because he’s a visionary and a revolutionary, fans would be excused if they started rolling their eyes at this routine.

Thankfully, Cody Rhodes came out and immediately called BS on Seth’s rantings, suggesting that assigning the fate of “the future of the industry” on their Crown Jewel match was “a bit much.”

Cody and Seth continued their intriguing rapport Monday night, with Rhodes trying to entrap Rollins by asking whether Seth was aware of everything happening with his stable, then using specific examples – the Brons showing up on SmackDown, Paul Heyman introducing Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza – to challenge that position.

Rollins was physically shaking as he kept insisting that every decision in the Vision was run by him. Even fans were hip to the room and called this out, leaving Seth to shake as he became adamant that he was in charge.

Later, when Rhodes started connecting the dots of their friendship from 2024, Rollins cut him off abruptly and denied ever being Cody’s friend, which came across more as Seth lying to himself than anything else. All of this was in service of Rollins’ insecurity as the world champion on Raw. He still needs that validation, and until he gets it, that doubt will continue to creep into his words and deeds.

Not as solid as last week, but this was another good chapter between the two men ahead of Crown Jewel.
