8 Most Pointless WWE PPV Matches Of 2017 (So Far)

1. Breezango Vs. The Ascension (Money In The Bank)

Breezango have potential to be a solid (if comedic) addition to SmackDown's babyface tag-team contingent. If they're going to be anything other than bit-part players though, Fandango and Tyler Breeze need better rivals than The Ascension. That's not a reflection on Konnor and Viktor as performers, but they're just not really portrayed as menacing once the bell rings.

Case in point: the complete ease with which Breezango ran through the face-painted duo at Money In The Bank. Did WWE really have to orchestrate a 'who done it?' story behind a four-minute match? Apparently they did, and exactly who had attacked Breeze was used as the backdrop for this one. Fan apathy was audible when it turned out to be The Ascension.

This was the chance to do something interesting, like debut a new team. What could have been a feud for Fandango and Breeze to sink their teeth into turned out to be another throwaway match against a tandem fans have been conditioned not to take seriously.
