9 Card Predictions For IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary 2021
4. IMPACT Knockouts Title Submissions Match: Deonna Purrazzo (c) Vs. Taylor Wilde
The direction for Slammiversary's Knockouts Championship match couldn't be clearer; it's quite obviously going to be Deonna Purrazzo defending against the recently returned, Taylor Wilde.
So why not mix it up a bit? As opposed to letting it be as crystal clear as it currently is, add a stipulation to the bout. To be more precise, make it a submissions match. It makes sense, after all; Purrazzo is a master of the Fujiwara armbar, and has also used a double Fujiwara armbar to lift the Knockouts Championship, whereas Wilde recently debuted a new submission manoeuvre to defeat Kimber Lee in Taylor's first match in over a decade.
On paper, it's a match that makes perfect sense. This isn't a match to throw away on the weekly shows or an IMPACT Plus special like June's Against All Odds; this is a marquee pay-per-view title bout.
It's almost certainly going to be the end of Purrazzo's legendary second title reign as Wilde begins her own second run on top. Going by this article, 'The Virtuosa' won't have Susan by her side, and Kimber Lee could easily be taken out by either Su Yung or the currently obsessed Taylor Wilde enthusiast Tenille Dashwood.
This will be the Knockouts Championship match on 17 July, regardless of its stipulation. Expect a new champion come then.
