How AEW Collision Will SOLVE Wrestling's Biggest Problem
2. Bloated Beyond Belief
Whichever way you look at it, it's tough to argue that the AEW roster is not currently bloated beyond belief.
For the past several years, Tony Khan has wanted to keep his proverbial cake while eating it too. By that, the AEW President has admirably wanted to not fire anyone, while simultaneously looking to always add new names to his ever-expanding roster. The end result is a whole bunch of guys and gals who find themselves stuck in catering due to AEW not having enough TV time to accommodate them.
Even for those who do make appearances on AEW television, such appearances can often be fleeting ones. You may have Sammy Guevara wrestle a Dynamite match this week, then not see the Spanish God lace up his boots for another month or more. Sammy is merely a random name used as an example here, but you could easily swap out Guevara for so many of those contracted to AEW.
It's not just on the actual wrestling front that this is an issue, mind, for MJF continues to show that you don't need to lace 'em up every single week to be perceived as a huge star. The problem is, there are so many AEW talents right now who can go weeks, months or even multiple months without making a single appearance on TV - and then when they do resurface, audiences are expected to immediately be invested in them.
