Ranking Every “I Quit” Match in WWE History

7. The Rock vs. Triple H: Raw, January 25, 1999

One night removed from his WWE Championship victory against Mankind at the Royal Rumble, The Rock had to face another roadblock on his way to the main event of WrestleMania in the sizeable shape of Triple H. On Raw, he challenged Rock to an "I Quit" match (his second in the span of 24 hours) for the title, which he accepted.

As epic as the encounter between Rock and Mankind was from the Rumble, this bout didn't exactly capture the same magic. Rock and HHH always had excellent in-ring chemistry together and they worked well together in this contest, but the stipulation wasn't at all necessary.

Of course, it wouldn't have been the Attitude Era without some shenanigans involved. By the end of the match, The Corporation threatened to do harm to Chyna until The Game quit, and he regrettably complied. Afterward, Chyna double-crossed HHH and joined the villainous faction, showing the fix was in the entire time.

For a Raw main event, it was decent and enjoyable while it lasted, but you had to know that these two could have done better if they had more of a story to work with. Furthermore, the tremendous "I Quit" match from the night prior was going to be hard to top no matter what they did.
