WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Jan 15)

5. Whatever Rex Was Doing

Aron Rex And Rockstar Spud

Aron Rex just can’t find an identity in TNA. When he first showed up he was cast as a babyface who was out to right the wrong of his bad push in WWE. When that didn’t work out so hot he began wearing a ring of power, and knocked out his opponents in Grand Championship matches. When he lost the belt he went back to playing an Intellectual Savior. That seemed to be going all right, but he gave it all up to become Liberace.

It was a pretty jarring new development. What made it so absurd was not that he put on mascara and wore flesh colored trunks, but it was the fact that he talked in a completely different voice. It was like a high-pitched, effeminate tone that he’d never, ever used before on TV. So all these years he was using a fake voice? That’s some serious dedication to his craft.

It’s probably too early to tell if this is going to be a gigantic embarrassment, but it certainly got off to a pretty bad start. However, he made the whole MizDow thing work, and that initially seemed like it was an effective way to bury him. So who knows? But you would still think there’s just got to be a better way to use Rex and Rockstar Spud.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
