Oh boy.

R-Truth had serious momentum when he returned after being released to shock the world by attacking Cena at Money In The Bank. Then, WWE decided to scrap everything by correcting John’s heel turn and making him babyface again. They’ve since put Cena and Truth face to face - there, John played with Truth’s mind by alleging that he was the one who’d flipped.

That was cute, but it hasn't washed the bad taste from fan mouths about how little was achieved during Cena's heel run and with Ron Killings roaring back into view as a mercenary out for blood. Come Clash, Truth going Killings, costing Cena the match and uniting with Logan Paul would be newsworthy, but it’s also a bit late in the day to make anything of this.

It's unlikely that WWE fans would be on board with booing Ron anyway. He's a beloved legacy character, and those same folks literally campaigned for Triple H to bring him back mere months ago. Ignoring that rapturous support in favour of a bizarre attempt at going rogue would be insulting, but it wouldn't be a major surprise given the topsy turvy nature of Cena's 2025 to date.

Good luck keeping it going after that initial swerve, writing team. There's just no way Truth could be heel opposite Cena during the last remaining months of John's iconic career. Yep, they've really fudged this whole thing badly, haven't they? It's nearly September, and now we're talking about unwanted R-Truth heel turns!

How did we get here from Elimination Chamber's blockbuster Cena heel turn?!
