10 Active Boxers Who Could End Their Career Unbeaten
7. Luis Ortiz
At 37 years of age, it remains to be seen out long Luis Ortiz plans on remaining in boxing but the Cuban heavyweight has looked fresh in his recent outings and it has effectively put him out of the running to tempt any of the big names into a fight.
Like Usyk, Ortiz is a southpaw but he probably carries more power in both hands than Usyk and that is going to result in most heavyweights staying away from someone who was a major force in the amateur ranks.
Ortiz has spent time out of the ring after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs but there is an argument that a clean Ortiz is the most dangerous heavyweight in what is now a stacked division.
The WBA have him in line to challenge Tyson Fury or Wladimir Klitschko at some point during the next 12 months but both men will likely look for lucrative unification clashes rather than face 'The Real King Kong'.
He needs to somehow force a world title fight with one of the various title holders but when he does and in all likelihood becomes world champion, don't expect too many fighters to start calling out Ortiz when there are other options on the table.
