This goal, in a La Liga game away to Real Zaragoza, was magnificent. Having used his underrated strength to fend off a challenge by a Zaragoza player, Messi ran at the defence, weaving his way brilliantly past three attempted tackles before rifling a terrific finish into the corner of the net. The pace, trickery and ruthlessness that he showed was truly world-class.
