10 Best Ever West Ham Transfer Bargains

4. Marlon Harewood

Marlon Harewood became something of a joke player at times for West Ham, for his notoriously poor ability in one on one situations in his later years with us in the Premier League. However, when Harewood was signed in 2003 for just £500,000, he immediately made an impact up front. In the year we were promoted back to the Premier League, Harewood was our top scorer with 23 goals. He had an ability of scoring important goals at important times, and this helped West Ham's survival in the Premier League the following year too.
