Jermain Defoe has established himself as a top English striker over the years. He has scored countless goals for both club and country and remains are prolific attacker to this day. When West Ham signed the then 16 year old Defoe from Charlton's youth team, we had to pay just over £1 million in compensation; a fee that he more than made up for. He was loaned out to Bournemouth and scored an amazing 10 goals in 10 consecutive games. The following season he was our top scorer with 14 goals and helped us to a league position of 7th.
