Continuously classed among the top goalkeepers of recent years, Fernando Muslera has been an exceptional performer for Uruguay since making his debut for the national side way back in 2009. Now, the 31-year-old is going into his third successive World Cup and will hope to contribute to a successful tournament for Uruguay.

Back at the 2010 World Cup, he made headlines as one of the better keepers to appear at the tournament. He kept clean sheets in all three group games and famously saved two big penalties in Uruguay's controversial quarter-final victory over Ghana.

Despite being more than good enough to play for a big side in one of Europe's top leagues, Muslera has remained with Turkish club Galatasaray for several years now, winning several titles and cups along the way and setting a record for clean sheets in the league. With Uruguay, he won the Copa América back in 2011 and is easily one of the nation's best and most important players, with 96 caps to his name.
