Hole-for-hole, the Augusta National Golf Club is not one of the most challenging golf courses in the world but it is definitely the most prestigious. Ask any player in the world which course they would like to play and they will likely tell you the venue which stages The Masters every year.

There are various reasons why Augusta is held in such high regard. It's a privately-run course which offers an invite-only membership policy, meaning only a select few will get the opportunity to take to the tee at the Georgia-based location.

Some will simply see the chance to play Amen Corner as their golfing dream. The trio of holes - number 11, 12 and 13 - are seen as a part of the course where tournaments can change with a single shot. The same can be said of the par-five 15th, which teases players into going for an extravagant second shot, which can either lead to an eagle or easily result in a double-bogey seven.

The Masters generally produces low scores across the four days due to the favourable conditions, but there are still few places on the courses that provide wide margin for error and you can't coast around a course like Augusta.
