4. Man United 8-2 Arsenal, 2011
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ym6t6i-wnmw Manchester United have gotten the better of Arsenal so many times over the last ten years, that its probably no surprise to see three valiant Red Devils performances against the Gunners featuring in this list, but none of them were as mouth-wateringly succulent as the 8-2 whooping Fergusons men handed out in August 2011. Admittedly, Arsenal were going through a bit of a mini-crisis at the time, having failed to score in either of their opening two Premier League fixtures and being forced to contend with a lengthy injury list ahead of their trip to Old Trafford. However, nobody could have foreseen the incredible 90 minutes that lay in store at the Theatre of Dreams. One couldnt blame Arsenal supporters for having become mentally scarred by the events of Old Trafford in August 2011, having seen their goalkeeper concede eight goals. This sort of humiliation was usually reserved for the minnows of the top-flight - the Ipswich Towns, the Wigan Athletics etc, not a side who had aspirations of challenging for the league title. Danny Welbeck opened the floodgates with a looping header after 22 minutes, before Ashley Young curled home a 25 yard strike seconds after Robin van Persies penalty was saved. Wayne Rooney grabbed a third, before Theo Walcott restored parity before half-time. Rooney added another free-kick to his repertoire in the second-half, before Nani grabbed the sides fifth goal with a dinked finish. Park Ji-Sung was next to get in on the action, helping himself to his customary goal against the Gunners, before van Persie notched another consolation. The humiliation hadnt stopped there, however, with Rooney completing his penalty with a hat-trick before Young rounded off a day in dreamland for the Red Devils with a carbon copy of his first goal in the final minute.
