10 Best Players Of The 2018 World Cup

7. Philippe Coutinho

Brazil, for the most part, had a pretty forgettable World Cup. The South Americans head into every tournament believing they can win it and were heavy favourites this summer, especially when Germany got eliminated in the group stage, but they could never quite live up to their hype.

Star man Neymar struggled, with his tournament more memorable for diving and theatrics than footballing flair, but if there's one Brazilian who could have gone home with his head held high, it's Philippe Coutinho. The Barcelona man was the only player to really live up to Brazil's storied history as one of the greatest international sides of all time, and some of the team's other players should be looking to him as the example to follow in the future.

Consistently key to all of Brazil's good moves, Coutinho was his side's top scorer and creator, with two goals and two assists to his name. Both of his goals were really well-taken and he was one of the best players on the pitch as Brazil tried in vain to break down Belgium in their quarter final clash.
