10 Best Spurs Goalkeepers In Premier League History

4. Erik Thorstvedt

Erik Thorstvedt was the first goalkeeper to regularly appear for Spurs in the Premier League era. The 97-time capped Norwegian international had been at the club for three years prior to the Premier League's inception, so nothing close to his 218 league appearances were in the Premier League (many were in the old First Division) but he proved himself to be a highly reliable goalkeeper in his time at White Hart Lane and is still fondly remembered to this day. In fact, Thorstvedt saw out his playing years at the club, having settled nicely in London after his move from IFK Gothenburg in Sweden, and retired at the age of 34 in 1996. He had also plied his trade in his homeland and for Borussia Mönchengladbach in Germany.
