8. Alan Shearer And Chris Sutton (Blackburn Rovers 1994-96)
Combined Appearances - 167 Goals - 96 Kenny Dalglish was part of one of history's greatest ever striking partnerships, and he was at the managerial helm for Blackburn Rovers to oversee one of the Premier League's most famous. When Dalglish brought Alan Shearer to Ewood Park from Southampton, he knew he was getting something special - a ruthless goal machine. That proved to be sound judgement as Shearer hit 56 goals in 74 games for Blackburn, as they cemented their place back in the top division. When Chris Sutton was recruited from Norwich City before the 1994-95 season, the puzzle was completed. By the end of that season, Blackburn had won the Premier League title, their first league title since 1914. Shearer scored an astounding 34 league goals that season, with his sidekick Sutton contributing 15, a title-winning partnership if ever their was one. Sadly, this proved to be a one-season wonder, both for Blackburn and the 'SAS' partnership. Sutton suffered injuries and loss of form, failing to score a single goal in the 1995-96 season, while Shearer merely increased his own value with another 31 league goals - this proved enough for Newcastle to stun the world with a £15m bid, which was of course accepted.
