7. Thierry Henry And Dennis Bergkamp (Arsenal 1999-2006)
Combined Appearances - 610 Goals - 266 The union of Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp was one that married two perfectly fitting styles of play. Henry brought the poacher's instinct, fearsome skill, and pace, while Bergkamp at times languidly conducted Arsenal's attacking orchestra, as the two made a terrific partnership to set this apart as Arsene Wenger's most successful period as Arsenal manager, culminating in an unbeaten season being set in May 2004. Before Henry bloomed as Europe's most deadly hitman, he had been struggling on the wing for his previous clubs, Monaco and Juventus, but in Bergkamp he found a kindred spirit. Both men have spoken fondly of the memories their partnership brings, and Arsenal fans will be no different. Henry may have scored 214 of those goals, being the standout marksman from this pairing, but as most will know, Bergkamp was about much more than just goals. One would even wonder whether Henry would have shined quite so brightly without the non-flying Dutchman. Henry started with no goals in his first eight games, and in a parallel universe could have joined the likes of Christopher Wreh on Arsenal's striking scrap heap. However, this particular Frenchman would instead make a name for himself as one of the Premier League's greatest ever players - he lies third in the list of all-time scorers since the league's inception in 1992. Henry has been awarded the Football Writers Player Of the Year award a record three times, and has been runner-up in FIFA's World Player Of The Year Award twice. The partnership came to an end at the end of the 2005-06 season, with Arsenal having just missed out on Champions League glory, but Bergkamp's testimonial rounded off the most memorable period of the Gunners' recent history, yet also was the first match at the new Emirates Stadium.
