The United States have several hot prospects coming through their ranks and Frances Tiafoe is a player who American fans should get excited about as he works his way up the world rankings.

The Maryland-born hitter enjoyed a successful junior career without winning a boys' Grand Slam title but despite only turning 18 in January, he has already competed at both Roland Garros and Flushing Meadows, although he lost his matches against Martin Klizan and Viktor Troicki in straight sets.

Nevertheless, Tiafoe responded by reaching a Challenger final just before his 18th birthday and although his only ATP Tour win of 2016 has come against fellow young player Taylor Fritz, he is already pushing some of the best players in the world with only a deciding-set tie-break separating Tiafoe and David Goffin at Indian Wells.

As of April 2016, he sits in 174th in the ATP standings but providing he remains grounded, that number will only improve throughout the remainder of the year.
