10 Biggest Prospects On The WTA Tour
3. Ana Konjuh
Winning two Grand Slam girls' titles and becoming the junior world number one was probably enough baggage for Ana Konjuh to deal with as a teenager but she eclipsed those achievements soon after her transition to the women's game.
Still aged 16, she broke into the world's top 100 to become the youngest player to enter double figures in the WTA rankings but her rise to prominence was not complete until she won her first top-tier event aged 17-and-a-half when beating Monica Niculescu in Nottingham.
After so much success at an early age, Konjuh has already been tipped for the top but she must ensure she does not become another name to fail to justify the hype heading into her twenties.
So far, there is no indication that may happen. She has not enjoyed the greatest start to 2016 but that could be a blessing in disguise. Other prospects are beginning to announce themselves onto the world scene and it may allow Konjuh to hone her skills out of the limelight.
The Croatian has a significant amount of ranking points to defend throughout the remainder of the year but if he focuses on her game rather than what is at stake, it won't be long before we see Konjuh at the business end of Grand Slams.
