One of the most confusing and controversial transfers in the history of the Premier League. Days after turning 18 Manchester Untied announced that they had sealed a day with Lyn Oslo to sign the highly rated Nigerian midfielder. The club even held a
hastily prepared press conference to announce his signing. Days later it turned out the player was staying in a London hotel with his agent, John Shittu. He then appeared on Sky Sports News claiming that United has pressured him into signing and it was actually London based Chelsea who he actually wanted to sign for. The matter was eventually resolved following bags more controversy and Mikel got his wish, penning a 4 year contract at Chelsea.
