Over the previous two seasons Crystal Palace’s Luka Milivojević made quite a name for himself in Fantasy Football.

In 2017/18 he was a budget midfielder who took penalties and quickly became a popular option for many FPL managers, as tricky wingers like Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend had a good knack for getting fouled in the box and the Serbian international had an impeccable record from the spot.

The following season Milivojević's price went up to £6.5m, which seemed a little steep, but for the second season in row the Selhurst Park side won the most penalties out of any team in the Premier League. Milivojević scored 12 goals in that campaign – 10 of which were from the penalty spot.

Ahead of the 2019/20 campaign there was a theory doing the rounds that penalty takers would be in high demand in Fantasy Football this season, particularly with introduction of VAR, which had awarded a huge number of penalties during the 2018 World Cup.

But alas, it did not work out that way at all. Milivojević was priced at £7m, but scored just three goals, two of which were penalties, and came away with a paltry 81 points from 31 appearances – lower than teammates James McArthur and Cheikhou Kouyaté.
