10 Biggest World Cup 2014 Flops

1. Eden Hazard

Almost predictably at this stage, this did not work out by any stretch of the imagination. Belgium, for all of their Premier League poster boys, fell flat. They looked lackluster, and lacked rhythm, imagination and much of a goal threat. Hazard, who has 30 goals for the Blues to his names, barely mustered a shot on goal, as his side limped through an easy group, and over the line against a plucky USA side in the last 16. His legs looked heavy, his facial expressions drew a weary visage, and the energy and fluidity which had decorated the Match of the Day highlight reel for the best part of two years had all but eluded him. The former Lille winger represents much of the media€™s representation of Belgium. Exciting, young and a new wave of talent. Belgium were heralded as the media darlings, the punter€™s dark horses, with so many recognisable faces littered throughout the squad. Eden Hazard, fresh from his PFA Young Player of the Year season, was the cherry on top of an already mouthwatering squad, and was ready to take the world by storm.
