10 Brutal Times Footballers Got Their Revenge

9. Didier Zokora V Emre Belozoglu

He may have fashioned a reputation as a bit of a hardman on the pitch, but the minuscule Turkish midfielder's racist remarks towards Didier Zokora back in his homeland saw him on the receiving end of a kicking.

After that incident, the former Tottenham man from the Ivory Coast played the waiting game — several months to be precise — before plotting his own revenge. As Zokora's Trabzonspor lined up against Emre's Fenerbahce in 2012 fists and boots began to fly. The feisty affair saw the Ivorian attempt to kick racism out of football — quite literally.

Emre was actually punished outside of football for his racist remarks too, received a two-and-a-half-month suspended prison sentence in 2014 for his comments.
