10 Candidates For The PFA Young Player Of The Year Award

2. Daniel Sturridge

The third Liverpool players to feature in the list, the performances of Daniel Sturridge have been key to Liverpool's rise up the table. At the beginning of the season, Sturridge showed that he was more than capable of carrying Liverpool's attack in the absence of Luis Suarez, scoring decisive goals in early season wins for the Merseysiders. What was more impressive, however, was that Sturridge was able to from a lethal partnership with Suarez upon his return to the team, and has even gone on to outperform the Uruguyan recently. With Sturridge the figure do speak for themselves, 18 goals in 19 games is a figure that any striker in world football would be envious of and Sturridge has shown no signs of slowing down, with nine goals in his last seven games. Verdict Daniel Sturridge is a top candidate to win this award and many more this season and will surely lead the line for the England team in the world cup. The only blight on his record is that he has missed eight games through injury this season, but even then, he is surely a strong favourite to be the PFA Young Player Of The Year
