Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton's partnership lasted for just one season, but that was enough to establish themselves as one of the greatest ever as Blackburn Rovers clinched the Premier League title in 1995.

The original 'SAS', Shearer and Sutton were to be credited for 49 of the 80 goals that the Riversiders scored in the triumph, though a lion's share of the goal-glut goes to the former.

Shearer's imperious run yielded 34 goals, which was also the highest in the division by a mile. Sutton may have chipped in with only 15 goals of his own, but that wasn't half-shabby either.

The magic, sadly, wasn't to be replicated again though as Sutton's succession of injuries the next season kept him out of action extensively and he also failed to score even once in 13 games he played.

Shearer, meanwhile, starred once again with 31 goals and then jumped ships to Newcastle in the summer.
