7. Arsenal Win The Title At Old Trafford
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPvwkn1VkjA Arsene Wenger had turned Arsenal into a truly formidable side by the time the 2001/02 Premier League rolled around. In Sol Campbell, Patrick Vieira, Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry the team had a superb spine, and with the likes of Robert Pires and Freddie Ljungberg as well, it's clear to see why many fancied them for the title. They were the dominant team throughout the campaign, and in their penultimate game, a trip to Old Trafford, Wenger's men knew that victory would clinch the title on the turf of their arch-rivals. There would surely be no sweeter place to seal their glory. The match was far from a classic in truth, but the Gunners were the better team from start to finish. The game's pivotal moment came fairly early in the second-half. Ljungberg burst through on goal, and although the Swede's effort was saved by Fabien Barthez, Sylvain Wiltord was on-hand to fire the ball into the back of the net. The away fans went wild. Although United desperately looked for an equaliser during the final 30 minutes or so, Arsenal held firm, ensuring a momentous victory and one of the club's greatest ever wins in the process. They were very deserving champions.
