4. Blackburn Clinch Glory... Just
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASs3afmUpO0 The final day of the 1994/95 season was one of the most exciting in the history of the Premier League. Kenny Dalglish's Blackburn Rovers side had a two-point lead over United but faced a tough trip to Anfield, while Ferguson's side travelled to Upton Park to face West Ham. The league leaders knew failure to beat Liverpool could prove fatal, and it was a day of huge twists and turns. Dalglish's men got off to the perfect start, with the prolific Alan Shearer firing them in front after 20 minutes. John Barnes made it 1-1 after the break though, and the Blackburn nerves began to jangle. United were drawing 1-1 at this point, with Brian McClair's header cancelling out Michael Hughes' opener. They were throwing everything at the Hammers, knowing that a win at that stage would make them champions. In stoppage-time at Anfield, Jamie Redknapp's stunning free-kick put Liverpool 2-1 up, which officially meant that a United winner would be curtains for Blackburn. West Ham held on, however, following an incredible last 10 minutes or so, and Dalglish's side were champions. There were Liverpool fans celebrating inside Anfield, delighted that their legendary former striker had led his Blackburn side to glory at the expense of their most bitter rivals.
