After a relatively underwhelming start to the January transfer window, we finally got a burst of action when Chelsea last week re-signed former player Nemanja Matic from Benfica for £21 million. Matic's return to Stamford Bridge completes a total U-turn after the west London side let him leave for less than £5 million as part of the David Luiz transfer three winters ago. Manager Jose Mourinho quickly identified the Serbian international as a key target this month as part of his plans to re-build the club, with Chelsea apparently having no qualms with buying back someone they let go. However, the transfer of Matic back to the capital does have a degree of embarrassment to it considering the Blues took a massive £16 million hit in the pockets. Had they shown faith in the midfielder to begin with, they would not have had to have shelled out the huge fee to bring him back in the first place. Matic isn't the only player to have returned to his former club for an inflated price, however, as many stars have given their employers the same headache in the past. Here we take a look at 10 more players who returned to their former clubs for inflated prices. Click "Next" to begin.
