Valeri Bojinov is a Bulgarian footballing legend. Well, perhaps not a legend in the same sense as compatriots Hristo Stoichkov and Dimitar Berbatov, Bojinov has earned a reputation throughout his career as being one of the most frustratingly difficult players behind the scenes.

A footballing journeyman who has played professionally in no less than eight countries, it's probably not surprising that Bojinov has failed to make himself at home at any one team. During one of his many spells in Italy, Bojinov managed to get in a fight during training with Lecce teammate Manuel Giandonato despite the fact the pair were playing in separate games.

Bojinov would again prove himself as a less than exemplary team player during his time at Sporting Lisbon. With the score at 1-1 in the dying seconds against Moreirense, Sporting were awarded a penalty and Bojinov, determined to take the spot-kick, literally shoved regular penalty kick taker Matias Fernandez away before proceeding to see his tame effort saved. Unsurprisingly, the Sporting brass was not happy with the stunt and immediately exiled the Bulgarian from the club.
