10 Footballers You Completely Forgot Signed For Chelsea

3. Brian Laudrup

Another player who arrived well before the era of Roman Abramovich, Brian Laudrup will look back on his time with Chelsea as a huge disappointment.

Laudrup had been nothing short of superb for Rangers before moving to Chelsea in 1998 at the time when likes of Gianluca Vialli and Roberto Di Matteo were at Stamford Bridge.

The Danish star was unhappy with the club from day one and only carried on playing for the Blues amid the threat of legal action from the club in respect of him honouring his contract.

He went on to make fewer than ten appearances in the blue of Chelsea and but for his antics off the field, he is a player who is largely forgotten about.

It was a big shame for Laudrup because the ability he had was undoubted and he had been a success everywhere else in his career.

He subsequently moved on and finished his career with Ajax before retirement.
