It's quite fitting really that this list finishes with the name Ferguson, given we are talking about Premier League winners medals.

However, it's not the legendary Sir Alex who comes out on top here, but his son, Darren, who managed to snaffle one of the very first Premier League winners medals back in the 1992/93 season.

Ferguson was thrust into battle with United suffering a spate of injuries, including one to club captain Bryan Robson.

With the bar set at ten Premier League games to qualify for a winners medal, Ferguson's early-season selection and performances in the absence of Robson proved enough for him to land a place on the winners' podium.

Ferguson moved away from the club the following season and never got anywhere near the heights of winning league titles in his playing career.

To his credit, he has followed in his father's footsteps to an extent, with an impressive enough managerial career in League One and Two.

For all the superstar players to have gotten their hands on the biggest prize in English football, Ferguson most definitely sits up there as one of the most surprising names.
