10 Former Strikers Spurs Wish They Had Now

9. Teddy Sheringham

Time At Spurs: 1992-1997, 2001-2003. Games For Spurs: 277. Goals For Spurs: 124. Teddy Sheringham had exceptional technically ability, a level head, a calming influence on his team-mates, an eye for the perfect pass and - most importantly for a striker - a fantastic knack of finding the back of the net. He had the ability to change any given game with a moment of genius and is arguably the most intelligent player the club have had in the Premier League era. He was so good that his distinct lack of pace wasn't even noticed. Remarkably, he never actually won anything at White Hart Lane, but Sheringham was Spurs' top scorer in five different seasons in the nineties and noughties and is the club's ninth top goalscorer of all time. A player like Sheringham could really steady Spurs' sinking ship and his goals would also go down very well right.
