The Reds narrowly lost out on the Premier League title in 2014, but the prospects would've been much worse without Luis Suarez and his blistering run of form.

Having missed the first five of the games through suspension, he was virtually unstoppable upon returning. The Uruguayan ace tore defences asunder and racked up 31 goals by the end of the campaign.

What makes his tally even more impressive is that none of his goals came from the penalty spot! Suarez also assisted 12 times and created plenty more big chances along the way.

Liverpool's blatant defensive shortcomings were covered up by Suarez's virtuoso displays, but the chickens did come home to roost eventually as a late collapse ended the title run in agonizing fashion.

The former Ajax was still, the PFA's Player of the Year, won the Premier League Golden Boot, and more importantly, earned a big money move to Barcelona later that summer.
