It's one thing losing to a local rival, but it's another thing entirely going to their stadium on the last day of the season knowing that a win would guarantee a place in next season's Champions League - ensuring your other local rivals, Arsenal, didn't quality for said Champions League - only to suffer a food poisoning epidemic in your squad, lose the match 2-1, allowing Arsenal to qualify ahead of you. The Spurs squad had a dodgy lasagne and goals from Carl Fletcher and Yossi Benayoun ensured Jermain Defoe's goal meant nothing, as hearts were broken badly on the white side of North London.
