10 Last Minute Football Transfers That Could Still Go Down Before The Deadline Day

2. Lautaro Martinez To Barcelona

This one may be a little more unlikely than the rest on this list, but there's no denying it taps into one of the biggest problems currently plaguing Ronald Koeman's Barcelona side.

With Luis Suarez being sent packing in some pretty unceremonious circumstances for a modern legend of the club, Barcelona will almost certainly end this summer transfer window with a new striker in their ranks.

A core of ageing players is one of Barca's biggest issues and, at just 23 years of age, Martinez could be the first in a new line of hot prospects for the club.

Martinez finished the 2019/20 campaign with 14 goals and 3 assists from 35 Serie A appearances, with the Argentine striker averaging a whopping 4.52 shots per ninety and 1.12 key passes for Antonio Conte's Inter, with both of those hauls better than any other player in the side.

Powerful, fast and strong in the air, there are plenty of similarities between Martinez and Suarez that Barcelona would do well to capture. Given the mind-blowing decisions around recruitment Barca have employed over the past couple of years, this could be the signing that helps steer the club back on track.
