10 Lessons Learned From UFC Fight Night 52

1. Mark Hunt Is Capable Of Greatness - But Has A Small Window Of Opportunity

Well, he did it, we've said it a few times now, but here's one more: Mark Hunt knocked out Roy Nelson. It was unexpected. It was a huge career moment for Hunt, in the country where he got his start as a fighter. He's beloved in Japan, and loves the country, so it's a happy ending. It also means that Hunt will be back in the title picture, despite being just 1-1-1 in his last three fights. Nelson's a tough guy to put away, so Hunt, who won a Performance of the Night bonus for the knockout, is going to get a ton of bonus cred for the feat. Where does he go next? We'll tackle that separately, but at age 40, Hunt simply doesn't have a lot of time left in the fight game. He needs to take a big fight, take it soon, win, and then hope it's enough for the UFC to finally give him a title shot.
