It makes sense. Cowboy is one of the most popular fighters in the UFC with an anyone, anywhere, any time philosophy and a marketable persona. Eddie Alvarez is the reigning champ of the biggest promotion outside of the UFC and is riding a huge wave of popularity into the promotion. He's a huge signing and a legit top five guy at lightweight. He's getting a huge test in Cowboy and either of these fighters deserve a title shot with a win, especially now that Rafael dos Anjos has simplified the equation by eliminating Benson Henderson from the picture.
