Despite only being at the club for 18 months, Titi Camara was a firm fans favourite at Anfield. Lighting up the ground with superb skills and a flair for the inventive, the Guinean striker opened his account for the club on his debut against Sheffield Wednesday in August 1999 with a fine strike in a 2-1 win at Hillsborough. The ground had particular resonance for Liverpool supporters, particularly as it had been ten years since the disastrous events that claimed 96 lives, and so it was a perfect place to get off the mark of his new club. Camara went on to score in three successive Premier League games during the autumn of 1999, as the Anfield faithful quickly fell head over heels in love with the Guinean international.
