6. Danny Welbeck vs Real Madrid, February 2013
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoHdFQZGH5w A bit of a marmite player, many will debate whether Danny Welbeck befits the tag of 'ordinary' or not. However, the fact of the matter is 29 goals in 149 appearances for the club does not paint a picture of a prolific finisher, and factoring in a season where he registered just one goal from 27 appearances, it certainly does not look like he was ever Manchester United standard. However, he did have his moments at the club, and was a popular lad, so it's no surprise why many supporters have been left a bit disappointed about his recent move to Arsenal, especially since he progressed through the youth system. Probably his finest moment in a Manchester United jersey came in Madrid, in February 2013. Deployed out wide and asked to stifle former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, Welbeck produced a magnificent performance during the Champions League last 16 encounter. While Ronaldo did score a towering a header at the Bernabeu that night, so did Welbeck. With 19 minutes having been played, Wayne Rooney swung in an inch-perfect corner, which Welbeck met with aplomb, glancing past Diego Lopez into the far corner. Sprinting away in delight, the away section had been sent into raptures - they had just grabbed a priceless away goal against one of the contenders for Europe's elite prize.
