10 Midfielders That Will Be In Roy Hodgson's Provisional England Squad (And 1 That Won't)

7. Raheem Sterling - Liverpool

Caps: 2 Goals: 0 Sterling is one of a trio of Liverpool midfielders to make this list and, like Lallana, his meteoric rise this season means that he is now being talked about as a potential starter for England's first group game. The diminutive winger has pace in abundance, as well as an eye for goal, and has performed well for Liverpool in some of their biggest games this season. He has been used in a number of positions by Brendan Rodgers, at the tip of a midfield diamond and out wide on the flanks, but if he is to grab a place in England's starting eleven it is most likely to be on the right wing. Hodgson will hope to utilise Sterling's established understanding with Glen Johnson at club level down England's right flank and give the tricky winger the platform to provide the ammunition to another team mate, Daniel Sturridge, up front.
